Medallions

Medallions are circular shaped plaques, suitable for lobby entranceways, corporate logos and illustrative works of art.

DECORATING PUBLIC SPACES WITH LARGE-SCALE MEDALLIONS

Masterwork Plaques can convert any seal, crest or insignia into a metal medallion. These circular plaques can be large or small, created for wall mounted or in-ground sites and are used for both standard signage and decorative purposes. Medallions are most commonly used as centerpieces in entryways, corporate buildings and public plazas underfoot, as they provide both ornamental and place-making opportunities for private and public spaces.

CORPORATE & DECORATIVE MEDALLIONS

1. UNIVERSITY SEALS AND CORPORATE LOGO MEDALLIONS

University seals, family crests and corporate logos can all be redesigned as metal medallions. Because cast bronze medallions tend to be large in scale, they offer great opportunities for branding, logo recognition and way-finding purposes. Although they are most commonly found installed in the ground, medallions can be mounted to the wall or used as handheld awards. Large-scale and small-scale medallions can also feature military seals, state seals and governmental logos.

2. INTERPRETIVE MEDALLIONS

At Masterwork Plaques, we specialize in the creation of artistic medallions that depict the history of communities and important events at the location where the work is installed. These interpretive medallions are typically created with a mixture of flat relief and hand carved illustrations. With these techniques, our studio can create illustrative medallions that tell a story of your choosing. These interpretive medallions are typically large in scale and have an impressive presence. They can be installed on their own or as part of a larger streetscape project, surrounded by decorative terrazzo or granite inset in the ground. Metal history plaques and medallions are a unique form of public art and place-making for communities.
